IR – Afghanistan distributed Aqeeqah fresh meat packages to people in poverty

Aqeeqah is Sunna of Mohammad PBUH on fathers. It is the Islamic tradition to sacrifice an animal on the occasion of a child’s birth. It is prescribed to slaughter two sheep for a newborn boy and one sheep for a girl.
Under project Aqeeqah, Islamic Relief Afghanistan reached to 572 needed families in eastern region consisting Khewa, Behsood, Sorkhrod districts and city of Jalalabad. A number of 260 sheep have sacrificed and 5kg fresh meat package distributed to needy people, disables, widows, orphans, IDPs and Returnees in mentioned areas.
